Maths Mastery EYFS to Key Stage 1: ‘Consistent Practice in Teaching Number Sense for Calculation’

 

Building strong foundations in reasoning and calculation for ALL children in mathematics

 

  • Teaching early number and calculation to 100+using Singapore’s highly effective ‘Concrete – Pictorial – Abstract’ approach (including use of ten frames (including Numicon, Cuisenaire rods and bar modelling)
  • Using subitising and unitising to teach essential concepts such as place value, base ten, part/whole, difference and equivalence 
  • Teaching ‘Maths Through Stories’: Using well-loved tales to bring maths to life!
